I live on the first (basement) floor of my building and there is a constant, rapid banging in the ceiling. Not something caused by the residents above, but what seems to be an issue with pipes that run under their floor and above my ceiling.

After a little "googling," it seems the tapping is caused by the water pipes in the ceiling. The banging is either caused by air in the lines or the pipes are inadequately secured.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something maintenance can do to solve this? If it happened occasionally, I could deal with it; but this is happening more often than not. Day, night, afternoon. Five minutes here, ten minutes there. It's driving me insane.

HELP!
