Thermostat is set to 80, but it's 63 degrees in my apartment...

Feedback Problem for The Villas

It's so cold!! All of my windows and the patio are shut/locked. No matter how much higher I raise the temp, it's not getting any higher than 63 degrees. :(...

I also have this issue! It’s freezing in this apartment. I have mine set to 80, and it has not gone past 65.

We also have this problem ... Except our heat dropped below 60 and we were forced to go out and buy a space heater.

Thank you for reaching out to us about the heating in your apartment. It is very difficult to combat the subzero temperatures outside and the 15 mph winds.With the boiler heating system, it can only put out so much heat and mother nature are giving it a run for its money.

Please be patient with us. Our team is working as quickly as possible to handle any ‘no heat’ maintenance request. Luckily the temperatures will be back above zero tomorrow, so we just have one more day of bundling up. Please remember that if your home is above 65 degrees today that you are about 80 degrees warmer than outside. So, though it is likely cooler than we would normally keep your home, this is an extraordinary weather event.

Please call the office if you think the heat is not working. Maintenance is more than happy to come and check on it for you!

We have the same problem. I literally touched the heating units and they are cold. No heat is coming out.

Hey Tia,
I've been meaning to return your call, but I forgot about it until now.. Sorry! Thank you for reaching out to me so quickly by the way. I ended up fixing the issue myself when I went to google and youtube for help, lol. Majority of the cold air was coming from the patio door and there was an opening around the AC unit. I ended up putting foam into the track of the sliding door, bubble wrap over the glass doors and secured any gaps around the AC. It sounds silly, but IT WORKED!!!

Feedback Problem for The Villas

I called the office to complain about my heat, or lack there of. My apartment was 73 degrees last night, 60 this morning at 8am and its 58 degrees right now and dropping. The maintenance man (Jesse) stopped over to check my heat. He was great but honest, the heat is on full blast but the building is so old that it all goes out the windows and sliding door. He read my heater at 110 degrees but over by my sliding door was 31 with a draft constantly coming through. I know its extremely cold out today but I should not be wearing a coat and blankets inside my apartment. It is literally warmer in...

Cold weather is on its way!

Good Evening Residents,

We are expecting record low temperatures over the next two days so I wanted to send out a quick reminder.

If your apartment is getting too warm, please do not turn off the heat. Instead, try cracking a window to help it cool down and just turn the thermostat to a lower temperature setting. With boiler heat, it is important to keep the hot water running through your pipes. This prevents them from freezing. The same thing goes with the plumbing pipes as well. I'd like to thank Jesse for coming back within 30 minutes with a new rod and spring for my sliding door! I was expecting it to get done on Monday or something. The coming days will bring below freezing temperatures, all the way down to -11 degrees on Tuesday night. Brrrr! We will need your help to avoid potentially major issues that can come with cold temperatures.

When the temperature takes a nose-dive to 10 degrees above zero or colder, you can help prevent frozen water pipes and breakage of water lines by doing the following:
