No hot water in building 2902-2910

Feedback Problem for Spruce Knob

The water this morning 3/5/2019 is only slightly warm. In the last two weeks, noticed that there are periods where the water is lukewarm and then the hot water returns.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this issue to our attention. I am sorry to hear that this has become an issue. Maintenance has taken a look at it and has been monitoring it without any indication of the issue so we have contacted a specialized contractor to come and inspect the water tank. They will be out Friday morning. We will keep you posted!

Did you submit a maintenance request on behalf of them?

I did indeed! We submitted the maintenance request and I reached out to Danguole personally. We have been monitoring the hot water tank and have brought in a professional contractor to check the performance and sensors. Please keep us posted if you experience continued issues with the hot water. Have a great day!

Feedback Problem for Spruce Knob

The ice and slush by Birch Hollow dr needs to be solved. Its horrible!

Melissa_Renwick's picture

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on my.mckinley. I am sorry to hear that the ice issue on Birch Hollow Dr has not been resolved to you approval. I have had the maintenance team through even more salt and break up the ice once again. Unfortunately it is a low point of the community and as the snow melts from the grass beside it it pools on the sidewalk and freezes. The salt melts the ice but then it freezes again. I will make sure that the maintenance team is checking it frequently throughout the day. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with in the future.

Ice

Feedback Problem for Spruce Knob

The ice problem around the complex has not been solved! There are still some really dangerous places! Now, once again the dog waste receptacles are overflowing. Does anyone walk around the complex?

Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns on my.mckinley. We take the safey of our Residents very seriously and therefore, both myself and your Lead Maintenance Tech walk the property daily. When I walked the property on Wednesday, I was pleased to find all building entries, connecting sidewalks and street-side sidewalks were ice free. I apologize if I missed an area! If ever there are times that you see an area of concern, please call the Leasing Office or on-call maintenance so we can address it right away.

I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Ice

Feedback Question for Spruce Knob

The ice around the complex is completely unacceptable. It needs to be solved immediately.

Just came to say the same thing! I called Friday when I got home from work about the ice. I was told they were out of salt but would try to get some from another property. This morning nothing has been done. I almost fell three times going to the laundry room. Since the temperature is not going to get above freezing this weekend can something PLEASE be done???

Agreed. The ice on the sidewalks is very hazardous and needs to be taken care of. The areas immediately outside the corrdior doors have been cleared, however we need to traverse the other sections of sidewalk to get to those locations, so not really sure what the plan was there.

Good Evening Residents,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this issue to my attention. You are correct, we ran out of salt late Thursday with the unexpected outcome of the snow and ice conditions this past week. The expected Friday delivery of salt was unfortunately delayed.

We are running into a circular situation where temperatures rise just  enough to melt the snow to run onto the low points of the sidewalk, and then freeze with the dropping temperatures. Thanks to our residents posting on my.mckinley, this safety issue was brought to our attention.

I was personally on property this early evening to spread salt on all iced sidewalks. I have brought the issue to the attention of our maintenance team, who will be on-property tomorrow to check the status of ice conditions.

Please keep in mind, however, that while the salt I laid this evening will melt the ice currently, should the temperatures conitnue to drop, it may freeze again, so please proceed with caution on any sidewalks and walkways, on our property...and elsewhere.

Please be safe, and, as always, continue to let us know when issues / concerns arise.

Best,

Melissa Renwick

I guess no one had time to go to Meijer and buy some salt. Now we have 3 inches of ice under 5 inches of snow, because there is no snow removal on weekends.

Thank you for taking the time to post on my.mckinley. Crazy thing is that every single place was out of salt, including all Meijer, home Depot, Lowe's, Target and every Hardware store in a 30-mile radius. Thankfully, Mckinley has several sister communities in the area, and I was able to get salt from them. I laid 12 bags personally Saturday evening, laying a thick covering on all icy areas of sidewalk.

The current ice situation has been a unique struggle as the snow and ice are melting to the low points on the sidewalk and then freezing again. That being said, we have salted and chipped away at the ice and yet we are still having issues. Please know that we have been on property over the weekend working on the situation and we will continue to work on it through the snow. We take the safety of our residents seriously and is always a top priority, even on weekends.

Maintenance was on-site this morning at 5 am to ensure safe commute for our residents this morning. Please be safe when travelling to your destination and plan extra time should you need to leave the house today. If there are areas of concern, please feel free to bring them to our attention. Thank you again for providing feedback and we will continue to battle through!

Best,

Melissa Renwick

Snow Update

Announcement for Spruce Knob

Residents of Spruce Knob,

While the snow commenced later than anticipated and allowed for an easier than expected commute into work, the same does not hold true for the commute home. Please plan extra time and drive safely!

At present, the heaviest snowfall is forecasted to occur between noon and 3 p.m. today, with precipitation continuing into the evening hours although at a much lighter pace. Our snow removal contractor is planning to be on site at 3pm to do a pass through of walks and drive and then again when the snow finally stops.

Please stay safe and take the...
