Announcement for Meadowbrook Village

Dear Residents,

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, filled with joy, love, and quality time with those who mean the most to you!

2019 was a great year for us! We were able to repair our irrigation system, performed some foundation updates throughout the community, and replaced all the poolside loungers with gorgeous premium chaises. We are very excited to head into 2020 and have some great things in store for our community.

Winter has been kind to us so far this season! Let’s hope Michigan continues to be kind to us and that our snowfall and low temperatures remain at a minimum. We have contracted out our snow removal for the drives this year and have purchased new snow removal equipment to aide our Maintenance team in the removal of snow and ice from the sidewalks and stoops.

We will have City Inspections this upcoming spring, and as soon as we get more details from the City of Ann Arbor, I will be sharing them with you. These inspections take place every other year.

We have a couple of new faces on our team heading into 2020. We have a new Senior Maintenance Technician, Daniel Gillum, who is joining us this month. He was with McKinley for several years and has just recently come back to us, and we are so happy to have his expertise! We also have Leon Shaw who joined us in December. He has been with McKinley for a year and has been a wonderful addition to our team.

I will be reaching out to all of you within the next few weeks to discuss your plans for this upcoming year and answer any questions you may have regarding our community or your home. I am always open to feedback and am always looking for ways that we can improve! If you would like to meet in the office, I would love to set up a time to sit down with you and discuss anything you would like to talk about.

We will be having a pizza party in the office on January 23 from 4 to 6 pm. We would love for you to stop by, grab a slice, and meet our team. We will also have a station set up where we can help you activate your my.mckinley account if you don’t already have one. My.mckinley is a wonderful portal for you to utilize where you can easily see community announcements, schedule maintenance service, and pay your rent.

I hope that you have an incredible 2020 and thank you for being part of our community.

I, like many residents, appreciate all you do, including the pizza parties! However, when is the treadmill going to be fixed in the tiny workout room that is barely useful for any more than 3 residents at a time, as it is?! It's been out of use for at least 2 months now... supposedly was to be fixed at the beginning of January. And the garbage collectors... are they on strike? When will the overflowing garbage and recycle bins be emptied? I would appreciate having you (staff) pay attention, and attend to, the basic needs of the community vs spending money it on a pizza party....but that's just my opinion. Thanks!

Good morning, Cherie! Thank you for reaching out and providing your feedback! I did try reaching out to you by phone and have left you a voicemail. I do apologize that the treadmill has been out of order for some time; as soon as we learned about the treadmill being broken we reached out to have it serviced. We are expecting the repair to be completed any day now; some parts had to be special ordered which unfortunately has left the treadmill out of commission longer than anticipated.

In regards to the trash and recycling, I called The City of Ann Arbor this morning and they have our pickup scheduled for today. Usually, our pickups are on Mondays and will return to Mondays starting next week.

If you have any questions or additional feedback for me, I would love to hear from you or meet with you in my office - I am always looking for ways for us to improve!

Thanks so much and have a wonderful rest of your week.
