Ice Outside 2125

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

When will this be taken care of? I've already fallen THREE times due to these unsafe conditions. I am concerned for the safety of residents if the ice in front of buildings isn't taken care of...

Good Afternoon Anna,

Thank you for letting us know about your building conditions this morning.  Our crew has been to your building and those that neighbor yours, and have plowed and salted.  If you notice an area that needs additional attention, please contract our office directly.

I am sorry to hear that you have fallen.  I have just left you a message on your personal number to speak about the details of your incident.  As our office will be open until 6pm today, please do give me call at your earliest convenience.  You are also more than welcome to email me if that is a preferred method of communication.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Do take care,

Smoke free residence???

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

Someone has continued to smoke cigarettes and weed in the laundry room of building 2281. I have called on this issue previously and was told a "reminder" of Glencoe Hills being a smoke free residence would be sent out. Nothing was sent out and the smoking has continued. My freshly washed clothes came out of the dryer smelling like cigarette smoke. NOT ACCEPTABLE! Something needs to be done. This was not a problem up until a few months ago so it must be a newer resident. Please address this now because at this point I'm considering withholding from my rent the cost of having my...

Good Afternoon Scott,

Thank you for taking a few moments of your day to call and speak with me about your smoking concerns.  I appreciate our open conversation and your understanding that we face a challenge when it comes to stopping this lease violation when we do not know the direct source.

I have made note on your suggestion on how to address the entry to the laundry-room and will be discussing this with our Community Manager.  If there are any changes to come, I will most definitely keep you updated!

In the meantime, as I mentioned, you will be seeing a letter posted to your entire building with a request for information anyone may have on who could be smoking. Once we know this, we can take the necessary step to directly address the violation.

Until then, please do let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

ICY building 2128 entrances. Aren't you Mckinley Corp supposed to care about SAFETY?

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

Where are you guys at Glencoe Hills office standing for your tenants' safety? We can barely walk into our buildings from the parking lots. The pathways are loaded with slippery ice that jeopardizes our integrity. Take of this ASAP...

Good Morning Pablo,

Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding the icy walkways.

At all times we do take the condition of community and the concerns of our residents very seriously.  Our maintenance team has continued to make the snow and ice removal their top priority and worked diligently to clear and maintain all affected areas.  At times, this can be an especially long process if we must wait for active snow to taper off, or for the temperatures to drop enough to make the salt effective.  If you notice an area that requires additional clearing, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly.  Doing so will allow for us to send someone to that area quickly.

During these severe winter weather days, we appreciate your patience while we attend to all areas of our community.

Have a wonderful day,

Neglected Icy Sidewalks

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

While the ice on the stairs by our building has been salted and now safe to walk on, the rather long sidewalk between the building and the parking lot is a sheet of ice. The stairs is a great start but the rest of the distance to get to the parking lot is still very slippery. Walking through the grassy area isn't much better. Kind of thought by now the sidewalks would be cleared...

We have the same situation on both sides of 2152 Glencoe Hills Dr. it is not safe to walk on the sidewalk.

Same in front of 2128. Went to pick up my elderly mother for something, and it was all we could do to get her safely to the car. Lots more salt, or maybe actually breaking the ice up and removing it.... It's downright dangerous and a total liability.

VeraS's picture

Update: It stopped snowing on Thursday. It's now Sunday afternoon, and the path from 2128 to the closest handicapped parking space was completely unpassable. I couldn't stand it any more and shoveled a path with my crappy tiny car shovel. It took me 20 minutes. Feel free to let me know the hourly rate of your maintenance crew and if this can be deducted from my rent. ;)
But in all seriousness this is a serious hazard and a legal liability on many different fronts. Your policy for ice clearing needs to be changed. I'm not generally a complainer but it's important that people stay safe.

Snow removal plan

Announcement for Multiple Communities

Good afternoon residents,

I want to give you a quick update on our snow removal plans for today. All parking lots were plowed at least once and building entrances were cleared. However, as there is currently a high volume of active snow fall, our team is taking a break and will resume their efforts once the intensity has decreased.

I hope you enjoy this beautiful day. Please use caution entering and exciting our community and stay warm!

I swept our entrance to the apartments and the walkway to the parking lot. It isn't much but I hope it helps. If you drop off a shovel at 2332 Woodridge Way, I will try to keep our walkway up. :) Also, you ever thought about leaving plastic containers of salt on the entrances for the residents to put out? Some of us will assist. Good luck and thank you for being out there trying to help! Just remember Summer is coming eventually.

Incredible Amount of Ice At McDonald Mansion- My Car is Stuck....Again

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

Hello, There is a ridiculous amount of ice all over the McDonald Mansion. ALL of the pathways are covered in thick sheets of ice and it is almost impossible to walk. It is also almost impossible to drive. Unfortunately for me it IS impossible to drive. My car is currently stuck on the trail on the side of the Mansion that is closest to the leasing office. If you look from the lot of the leasing office you will see it. I cannot move my car without risking sliding into the tree that is directly behind it. I was attempting to move my car knowing that the LAST time there was this much ice many of...

Good Morning Seaira,

As our temperatures are well above freezing and steadily rising as we get closure to weekend, and with a predicted peak of near 50 degrees by Sunday, this will make a positive impact on much of the lingering ice!

In an effort to further assist you, our maintenance crew will lay down an additional layer of salt in front of your tires.  This will be done today (02/21) so that you can have move your vehicle without delay!
