Rent

Feedback Question for Glencoe Hills

My lease stops at August 4th and according to the lease i only need to pay $135.35 for that. However your system shows the bill with a full charge of rent on it. For now i have already paid the part of my rent. So please check the system again. I do not think you should charge me overdue fee for my case.

Bingjia,  thank you for reaching out to us.  You are only responsibile for the pro-ration of rental charge until your lease expires or turn keys into our leasing office.  We will also be responsibile for utility charges until the end of your lease agreement or when you turn in keys.  Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Enjoy your day!

Amazon package lost?

Feedback Question for Glencoe Hills

I had a package delivered last Tuesday which was signed by "haneen" as shown on the app. I checked on it twice since then, and the office said they have no packages for me. So does Glencoe not claim responsibility for packages they sign? Or should I be ordering stuff at "my own risk" ?...

This happens all the time. I've had multiple packages just not show up, or recieved an empty package. I think this is a continuous Amazon screw up.

I have also had issues with Amazon packages not arriving. In my case it was not the office, but rather just never delivered (I was IN THE OFFICE waiting for the truck and the package was marked delivered but never actually dropped off). I have not had any problems with USPS or FedEx.

Hi Charlotte, I stopped by the office on Wednesday to speak with you but you had stepped out. I have emailed you the police report number as well as pictures of the vehicle damage. Can you please confirm receipt of the email? I work a modified night schedule so email is the best way to obtain a quick response.

Loud motorcycle at building 2271

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

Could you please address this ongoing problem: a resident in building 2271 who owns an extremely loud motorcycle continually revs the engine late in the evening, many times after midnight or 1am. He will zip around the parking lot with his bike and will rev the engine loudly while talking to other young men, sometimes parking on the sidewalk in front of the building. This needs to be addressed. It is happening daily.

Scott,  thank you for brining this issue to our attention.  We will try to identify this person to make them aware that the noise is bothering neighbors.  I am sorry about this frustration, we will try and resolve this for you as soon as possible.

Have a great day!

Bathroom sink leak

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

At 2:20 Friday afternoon I called the office stating that the bathroom sink was leaking. Micah said he's put in a work order "right now". At 5 Friday afternoon I still hadn't gotten notification that a work order was placed so I did it myself. It is now nearly 1 on Saturday afternoon and the work order hasn't been acted on. Isn't a water leak an emergency? Since it could affect not only my unit but the whole building? I have since identified the problem with the trap as a broken gasket. Could someone please come and replace?...

Good afternoon Dawn,  you are 100% correct this is an emergency and should have been handled yesterday.  I contacted James our on call technician and he will stop by soon to take care of this issue for you.   I also left a voice message for you.

My apology!

Toxic Fumes 2129

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

In building 2129 we believe they are repainting one of the apartments. It is 11PM and all we can smell is paint fumes in the hallway and in our own bedroom across the hall and up a floor. This stuff is potentially hazardous, and the fact that people can be unconsciously breathing it in is concerning. This kind of work should be done during the day, and should be ventilated, not kept in the building like at present.

Dakeshaw's picture

Update: Just checked the apartment and the windows are closed and so is the door. If this apartment was just repainted it should be well ventilated and not made to funnel all fumes throughout the building. It is unprofessional and ignorant of the workers.

Same is the case for 2273. My apartment reeks of paint fumes

They’re refinishing the tubs. It’s super toxic. Magnitudes greater risk than any latex paint. Glencoe cares not for our health or the law.

Good morning,  thank you for all the comments and your feedback.  We try to schedule our contractors earlier in the day, however it does not always work out.  Glazing is sometimes required in homes and we can provide our contractor's information if you want information regarding the process or the products that they are using.

Sincerely,

Charlotte

We should be notified before the contractors start their work in our building as we have shared ventilation - hence the ‘No Smoking Policy’. This would allow residents a chance to shut off their A/C and open up the windows. The weather should be taken into account also as not running the A/C on a humid 90°F day is not comfortable let alone safe. Not only would I like to review the SDS for the chemicals used, I’d like to know what the contractors do to mitigate the fumes.
