Ista Bill

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

I am a resident who is away 50% of the time...my ISTA bill is ridiculously high!!! ISTA says that this is community controlled. Why can't we have meters to accurately show our usage. I enjoy living here but the cost is becoming prohibitive through no fault of my own. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE why do EXCELLENT residents have to pay for the blatant disregard that others practice?...

The monthly ISTA bill charges are based and allocated on the type of unit you live in, how many people live in the unit and the amount of the utility that is used for the month is how the ISTA bill for the month is determined. Glencoe Hills does promote conservation of all utilities and we have information booklets that are included in all move in packets which explains ways to conserve water, gas and electricity. I appreciate your email and I am available by email at bbarrett@mckinley.com .

Thank you,

I agree that it should be strictly by apartment with meters....`1 month I pay 45 dollars another month its almost 75 dollars, and there is only 2 adults and a baby!!! Not possible to use that much in water for just us! Heck when living in a house with 2 others, thats how much the bill was...sounds a little odd to me!!!!

tornado warnings

Feedback Question for Glencoe Hills

We've had a lot of thunderstorms and tornado watches/warnings. I know that I have a hard time hearing the sirens most of the time but if I do happen to hear the sirens, I live on the 3rd floor and my apt has tons of windows- is there an actual approved shelter for when the sirens go off?...

Thank you for asking. Like any home, you will try and find the lowest area with no windows is the best place to be during a storm. The laundry area is probably the best area during this time, just stay away from the windows. If, however, you wish to remain in your apartment, then an inside bathroom will be your best area. Most libraries and the Red Cross have an actual storm shelter if you wish to go to one of those as well. Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it.

Meghan,

Here is a link to Washtenaw County's Emergency Prepardness Website. There is a ton of very helpful information and advice about what to do if there is an emergency such as a tornado.

There is also a really cool way to sign up to get text message updates for tornado and storm warnings via Nixle. The link is on the right hand side of the web page.

I hope this information is also helpful!
