Washing Machines

Feedback Question for Glencoe Hills

Although I think the new laundry system is smarter, I do wonder why a building with multiple 3 bedroom apartments only has one washer and one dryer located on the first floor. I have good friends in another building who live in a building with primarily 2 bedrooms and has two washers and two dryers.. I think an additional washer and dryer needs to be considered for building 2160. We do need it. Otherwise, the local laundromat is where I'm going to get my laundry done...

Hello Anna,

Installing another washer and dryer in your building is a great idea! Today I contacted Coinmach with your idea of installing another washer and dryer in your building. The contractor will be coming out to look over your building’s laundry room. It is my belief that we should be able to accommodate you and your neighbors with your request. I will follow up with you once I have the findings of the contractor visit.

I appreciate you taking the time to let me know what would make your living experience at Glencoe Hills better for you. I am always available by phone at 734-971-5455 or email at bbarrett@mckinley.com .

Thank you for your feedback!

Hello Anna,

I am excited to let you know that starting next week Glencoe Hills will be installing another washer and dryer in your laundry room as you suggested! The work will begin on Monday and the installation should be complete by the end of the week. I sincerely hope that by installing another washer and dryer in your laundry room it will make it easier for you to do laundry at home instead of going to a laundry mat.

I appreciate you taking the time to let me know what would make your living experience at Glencoe Hills better for you. I am always available by phone at 734-971-5455 or email at bbarrett@mckinley.com .

Thank you for your great suggestion!

Carport x2!!!

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

See I need to post this again to gain some attention....My carport is still leaking water on my car in at least 3 different spots, whoever was sent out to "fix" the issue, didnt fix it because its still bad if not worse! Do I need to bring my vehicle to the office one morning to make a point? I mean heck with the car being dry, you can see where the water has leaked all over my car! I am paying for a carport to keep my car DRY! And guess what its not working....so now what?...

Hello Diane,

The Glencoe Hills maintenance supervisor was out to your carport last month to look over your concerns of the drip marks on your car from the carport. Glencoe Hills has installed silicone around all of the screws for your carport. The carport drips on your car are not caused by a leak in the carport roof. The drip marks on your car are from the condensation of the metal carport. The carports are freezing or there was morning dew on the metal carport and as the temperature goes up during the day the frost or dew is causing the condensation to drip onto your car. I requested that the McKinley National Facilities Director come out to Glencoe Hills to take a look at your carport to get his opinion as what we could do further to stop the carport condensation from dripping on your car.

You and I have also spoke about the carport dripping condensation on your car and I would like to offer you another carport for the same rate that you are currently paying for your carport. During one of our discussions you had mention another carport space that might work out best for you. I am happy to offer you that carport space if you think that would solve the problem for you. It would be great if you could give me a call at 734-971-5455, email me directly at bbarrett@mckinley.com or stop by the office so we can talk about possibly moving your carport to a different carport space in your parking area.

Thank you,

Betsy,
This has been all year all weather conditions! When i lived in the other building, I had a carport and I didnt have anything like this going on....The only other carportsin our area are $20...if your willing to give me 2 of those for the price I pay now that may be an option, but I currently like the center of the ports we have now!

HI Diane,

Please give me a call at 734-971-5455 or stop in the office so we can discuss changing your carport location.

Thank you,

Betsy

I stopped in the office to speak with you about this, you werent there, Michelle said she sent you an email to call me, but I havent recieved a call and its been almost a week! But I just wish you guys would FIX the issue, instead of trying to get me to move carports, we picked the spots we did for a reason!

bbarrett's picture

Hi Diane,

Michelle did email that you stopped into the office I Thursday, 11/18/2010 but did not leave a message for me to call you back. I have had our National Facilities Director come out and look at your carport section and the carports across from your section.. It has been determined that the carports are not leaking but the drips are coming from the condensation that happens when the temperature rises throughout the day. Unfortunately we cannot stop the condensation from dripping on your car if it is parked in the carport.

The reason that I requested you to call me or stop in the office was to discuss with you our findings and offer to transfer carport spaces or to release you from your carport addendum. I cannot guarantee if you switch carport spaces that you will not have drips from condensation on your car. Please let me know what you would like to do. I am available by phone or email at bbarrett@mckinley.com .

Best Regards,

Poor communication

Feedback Question for Glencoe Hills

I received a notice a few weeks ago regarding my building (2104) getting new windows installed today. I rearranged my schedule to make sure I was home to move furniture and secure my pets as the letter requested. Half the day has passed and I had to call the maintenance department myself just to find out that the new window installation has been rescheduled to next week. I wish someone could have notified me of this change a little earlier. The poor communication is extremely inconvenient. I can't keep rearranging my schedule like this...

Hi Sherrie,

I want to apologize that you did not receive a notice about the change in schedule for the window installation that will be taking place at your building. We should have sent you an updated notice this week explaining that there was a schedule change and the windows would not be installed until the week of November 15-19, 2010. I understand that you did speak with our Customer Service Coordinator Jason and he has arranged for your windows to be installed next Friday, November 19, 2010.

I understand how difficult it can be when you have to rearrange your schedule to accommodate a request from Glencoe Hills to come into your home. I appreciate you bringing your concern to my attention and I will follow up with you personally if there is any change in the date for your window installation. Please let me know if you have any other concerns that you would like to share with me.

Sincerely,

Betsy Barrett

I have had this happen to me several times in the 4 years I have lived here. Communication just doesn't play high on the list of common courtesy.

Parking is going to be horrible

Feedback Problem for Glencoe Hills

It is so stupid that you decided to repave all these portions at once. By not finishing the portion on the west side of the complex, forcing all those cars to park elsewhere, then deciding to repave the east side of the complex at the same time is the dumbest thing you could of done. There is no reason what so ever that anyone should have to park a half a mile away from their home and walk just because some one made such a stupid decision. What if somebody gets home late in the evening? This hasn't been known to be the safest place in the world at times. What about people that may be...

Diane Steeg's picture
Diane Steeg McKinley Employee

Dear nooggets2000,
I first want to appologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. It is our intention to make the repaving of the lots go as smoothly and as quickly as possible. I do recall it being discussed as to which lot should be done first. But I don't know the specifics of that decision. I do know that the reason for that discussion was so we could have the least inconvenience to our residents. The weather also will have an effect on this. Weather permitting, the lots will continue to be paved and completed as soon as possible.
I do appreciate your patience in the maintenance to the parking lots. And again, I appologize for any inconveinience it may cause you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Diane Steeg
