Parking

Feedback Problem for Palma Ceia Hyde Park

Why was one of the guest spaces taken away by the shed during the reseal of the parking lot? If this is for the McKinley van to park there (which I haven't seen it there yet), this seems like an awfully horrible reason to erase a guest spot that was extremely valued by those that actually live here. Once again our complaints about visitor parking fall on deaf ears and this shows yet another example of a lack of empathy for those that live here...

Good Afternoon  Zachary,

Thank you for reaching out and inquiring about the parking space in front of the shed.  Unfortunately, we had to do away with the visitor parking spot because there were several occasions where our maintenance technicians were unable to access tools and appliances in the shed to complete work orders due to a car parking there.  I apologize for the inconvenience.  Please let us know if there is ever anything you need!

I hope you are having a great day!

Best regards,

Whitney Glidewell

So instead of finding a solution you further worsen our guest parking issue. You could have moved the parking blocks forward so they can get their tools or added an additional guest spot in the other section or to the left of those spots. Completely lazy, unacceptable, and a continued lack of basic creativity and empathy to solve problems. But hey, at least we get rent reminders.....

Maintenance Request Marked As Completed

Feedback Problem for Palma Ceia Hyde Park

Just got a notification that my that my maintenance requested was marked as completed at 8:30AM this morning. Here's the thing..I work from home and no one came to my apartment. My A/C is blowing warm air and not cooling my apartment. Luckily it has been ok with the windows open but it is getting warmer as the week goes on. So this isn't like a leaky faucet or something. This is the 2nd time maintenance requests have been marked as completed or finished when no one actually ever came to my apartment and no work was done. This is a terrible look guys, and unacceptable...

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Best regards,

Hello. Just wanted to point out that as of 4PM today the work looks like it has only been completed to the guest spaces near the dumpster, and not up to building 2410 like the current map shows for phase 1 completion. So everyone should be parking up to the bike rack near the dumpster or the guest spots only or they will be towed, correct? Just want it to be clear for people. Thanks

I would like to know this as well, as well as find out why we weren't given more advanced notice about this project? The parking lots were paved less than 3 years ago and did not take this much time or have problems. I work evening shifts and have to walk 6 blocks at night to park my car in an open spot because of this. What if I had been out of town and unable to move my car? There was barely any notice given and that's ridiculous because there's no way this project was planned last minute.

Good Morning,

Thank you for reaching out to us with these questions.  I apologize for the short notice and inconvenience during this time. Section 2 will be completely sealed today and the striping will be wrapped up tomorrow morning.  The entire parking lot will be reopened by tomorrow afternoon, weather permitting.  So far, we have only had to relocate vehicles to open parking spots.  We appreciate your continued patience as we complete this project.

Sincerely,

Whitney Glidewell

Where are we allowed to park in the meantime? I parked in a nearby neighborhood because that’s all there is and I’m trying to avoid walking home too far in the dark by myself. I walked all the way to my car this morning to see some typed notes taped to it telling me I’ll be towed next time I park there. The other note was a copy of “Tampa Parking Ordinance Section 2, Chapter 15, Article II, Section 15-43”. The ones on the document said you can’t park within 10 feet of a residential driveway unless it’s a marked spot or a metered space, which to my knowledge there’s none of those in proximity to the complex. I would like to know where I can legally park. There seems to be at LEAST 30 cars that aren’t able to park in the complex at this time. By time some of us get home from work or school there isn’t even local street parking. Half of us are probably parked illegally and don’t know it. Please inform us where we can park with confidence that we won’t get towed.

Thank you.

Will there be a rent deduction for this week long parking fiasco? Because FYI there’s no legal parking around this area where residents can park without being towed. It’s also very inconvenient to give LESS than a 24 hours notice. It’s also not fair for people who come home from work at 6 when it’s already dark to park a mile away and have to walk back to their apartment in the dark because there’s no parking. It’s also negligent to use a ONE way exit as a “two way traffic” system when people are parking on the edge of the one-way because again there’s no where else to park without getting towed. Other complexes I have lived in before would make deals with nearby businesses to utilize their parking lot so parking for residents could be easy as asphalt is being done. If there won’t be any compensation toward residents for this whole ordeal, I’d like to talk to a manager about finding somewhere else sensible to live as I’m sure this is a city code violation.

What is the email of someone who is in charge i can speak with directly? I cannot call the office during hours and nobody has returned my messages?

Jordan.pickus@yahoo.com's picture

Also found it EXTREMELY inconsiderate having two McKinley vans parked in spots last night. Knowing parking will be an issue why would spots be taken up when the residents have enough trouble as it is?
