Pissed off about parking

Feedback Problem for Bayshore Flats

I live in Bayshore flats I notified the office on Thursday when I got the email about parking enforcement’s and clearly stated I would not be able to pick up the tag due to lack of time and me working all day during Gasparilla cars are now being towed and I cannot park in the restaurant next-door or in my own apartment complex therefore have nowhere else to park and have to Uber I am extremely pissed off and expect some sort of contact or I will be at the office first thing tomorrow morning.

Urgent-Resident Parking Will Require a Decal

Announcement for Bayshore Flats

Dear Resident(s),

Beginning Saturday, January 25th all residents must have a decal on their vehicle in order to park at the community without the vehicle being towed. During this transition into having all vehicles registered and requiring a decal, it is important to review the parking addendum that will be placed on your door today. For visitors, please review the following link for permitted public parking by the city: https://www.tampagov.net/tcc/news/recommended-parking-and-...

Less than two days notice is not sufficient, especially for those who are not in town or working during the 10:00am - 6:00pm McKinley office hours to register their vehicles. If our cars are towed this weekend, we will expect that Bayshore Flats will pick up the cost of towing.

Hello Sarah, Thank you for this feedback.  However, we are attempting to keep our residents safe and with adequate parking during the Gasparilla celebration.  The City is blocking off much of the street and curb parking.  We're happy to accommodate you by picking up your parking form and delivering a decal to your apartment.   Any Bayshore Flats resident needing help with this can email Brittany (original posting) or me at randy.maggart@mckinley.com  Thank you to all for your prompt attention to this!  *Towing cost is always at the owner's expense.  Sincerely, Randy Maggart, Manager

How are we all supposed to get the decals in time? We haven't had a chance to complete the form yet. Are we going to be assigned parking spots as well? It seems confusing. In the past years we've just had a sign on our windshield. There aren't any traffic issues on our end of Bayshore. It's not close to the parade route.

Hello Alexandria!  You can fill out the form, drop off or email to us, then we will deliver the pass to you.  We're willing to assist you in any way.  I do understand you may not have a problem now, but without passes, our parking lot will be open to the public and we will not be able to control any overflow.  Sincerely, Randy, Manager

Agreed! My car got towed! I’ve been parking in the same spot for 6 months and now you give us TWO DAYS to come get a decal which is near impossible for those of us who work especially out of town! This is absolutely absurd! I had to grab an UBER during GASPARILLA and wait outside their towing lot in the blazing sun with my kid for an HOUR before anyone came to unlock the gate. You can take that $200 plus my Uber fee off of my rent! You can’t just go around and paint some corners yellow and force people to get a decal in less then 2 days! You say the notice was left on our doors Thursday and my car was removed from the lot Saturday morning at 2am! I have called and called and CALLED this office complaining about things since I moved here that STILL haven’t been addressed yet I am towed in 2 seconds flat and I pay rent here! How about all these people parking here for Gasparilla that don’t have parking decals yet their cars remain in the lot! There are no spots to park as it is so the people who live here get towed and the visitors walk away with nothing? Someone better be reaching out to me ASAP about this, better yet I’ll give management TWO days.

I have been out of town from Wednesday morning until Sunday night, upon returning, I cannot even park in my own parking lot because you gave a COMPLETELY insufficient notice for this major change to our complex. I have no problem with us switching to decals. I've lived here since 2016 and parking has gotten much worse over this time. However, I just cannot understand how you could think less than 48 hours notice is a decent enough time to begin enforcing this policy. Ridiculous.

"I am sorry to see some of our residents had difficulty with parking this weekend".... Randy, that comment is so far out of touch, management should be ashamed of themselves. The only difficulty we had this weekend was the one you created. We did not receive our decals on Saturday as promised in an email from Brittany (after we sent her our information Friday night) and the office was closed Sunday, leaving us defenseless against the predatory towing company you hired. Last night I woke up at 3 am to the sound of a resident's car getting towed at 3 am under my window, and was scared the same thing would happen to my own vehicle which still did not have a decal. Hiring a towing company to basically steal resident's cars from our lot in the middle of the night is not a solution that benefits anyone here.

Dear Sarah, My sincere apologies if that phrase appeared to be out of touch, this was not my intent at all.  In that we are addressing any issue on an individual basis, my statement may have seemed too broad.   However, I assure you my concerns are for our resident's safety and wellbeing - this is my priority.  To speak to the tow company issue, they are not hired but assigned.  Every community and business must have a designated company to comply with towing laws.  Without them, our parking lot would be open to the public.  I hope this helps clarify and I do look forward to speaking to you.  Thank you again, Randy

Randy,
What will our guests do? Especially those who just so happen to stay overnight? Will their cars need to be towed every time? I overheard another resident asking on the phone about where his family would park when they come to visit. Will there be designated visitor spots?

Stolen bike

Feedback Problem for Bayshore Flats

My kid's bike was stolen today. It was almost new. Please consider improving security in the complex. Do you plan installing cameras on at least four entrances?...

Hello Kostadin,

I'm so sorry to hear that your child's bike was stolen. It's so unfortunate that someone would steal from the community and I hope that you are able to locate the party responsible. Were you able to file a police report? Please send any additional information to me at Brittany.McLendon@McKinley.com so that I can keep it on file for you.

In reference to the security cameras, the properties are constantly under review for improvement and I will forward your concerns over to the community manager to see if there is anything additional that we can do for you. I hope your week turns around and please call the office at (813) 304-2776 or email me at any time if I can assist with anything further at Brittany.McLendon@McKinley.com
