New Shuttle Service From Ann Arbor to Detroit Metropolitan Airport

New Shuttle Service From Ann Arbor to Detroit Metropolitan Airport

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority has secured a partnership with Indian Trails bus company that will now give Ann Arbor visitors and residents a convenient, affordable, and reliable way to get to Detroit Metropolitan Airport and back.  The shuttle service is set to start in April 2012, and is called AirRide. Plans call for busses to pick up passengers at the corner of Fourth Avenue and William Street across from the Blake Transit Center downtown and also near the Briarwood Mall on Ann Arbor's south side (near I-94). At Detroit Metro Airport, the AirRide buses will drop off and pick up passengers at the International Arrival level of the McNamara Terminal, and at the Ground Transportation Center at the North Terminal.

There will be 12 round-trips per day, and tickets will start at an introductory rate of $10 for a one-way trip and $22 for a pre-paid round-trip. The regular adult fare is set to be $12 with a reservation or $15 without a reservation (discount rates will apply for Children, Seniors, and the disabled. Group rates may also be available).

New low-emissions Michigan Flyer busses (a subsidiary of Indian Trails) will offer free wireless Internet and restroom amenities on all trips.
