Gone Fishin'

Hello, wonderful Turnbury residents!

I saw this article from our friends at www.visitstpeteclearwater.com and wanted to pass it along.  If you haven't gone fishing in a while, these are some great locations (no boat needed)!  Grab a pole and let us know if you reel any in!

-------------------------------------------

Fishing without a boat generally means staying dry by fishing from a pier. There are plenty of options in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area; some of the better-known ones are the Sunshine Skyway Fishing Pier, Redington Beach Long Pier, The Pier (downtown St. Pete), Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach and the Gulf Pier and Bay Piers at Fort De Soto Park.

From these piers or bridges, the fish that makes most people's day is the Spanish mackerel, which can be caught year-round but has seasonal peaks. Red drum, speckled trout, and snook also can be found.

If you're ready to immerse yourself in fishing, try wade-in flats fishing, where you get out into the water (feet covered). It's a good choice if you're interested in fishing but not committed to a half-day minimum. It also does not require a guide or charter boat. If you have bass and walleye tackle from home, bring it, and your lures, too. Fort De Soto offers 7 miles of shoreline; Weedon Island Preserve is solid for this type of fishing as well.

For those who prefer freshwater fishing, Lake Tarpon (which has produced a 19-pound bass) and Lake Seminole are the places to start.

Thank you Turnbury Residents

Dear Turnbury Residents:

After much deliberation, I wanted to let you all formally know that I have had to make the decision to turn in my notice and leave the company after May 11th.

This was not an easy decision for me to make, and I just want you all to know that the decision has nothing to do with Mckinley or any of you! Life has granted me the opportunity to fulfill a life long dream, as some of you know I am quite the advocate for health and fitness, so I am pursing my career as a professional athlete.

It has been an absolute pleasure serving this community...many of you I have helped find a home with Turnbury, and others met me a year ago when I came on board and welcomed me into the community with open arms. The relationships I have built and life lessons I have learned from getting to know Turnbury's residents is invaluable...I cannot express how deeply I will miss each and every one of you! Feel free to stop by the office any time if you'd like to stay in touch, my email is always open and if you ever have any questions about anything, would like to say hello, or if you need advice or guidance on how to live a healthier lifestyle, exercise or diet questions i'd LOVE to hear from you! My email is nicole.labruyere@ymail.com.

Again, I want to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to work with you, and I will miss you!
